Atlas Estimator

Estimator Tool

From the Dashboard click on the "Estimator" link on the left hand side.
This link will bring you to the Estimator dashboard.

Estimator Dashboard

On the dashboard you will be able to edit your estimator settings and view previously saved estimates.

Estimator Settings:

Clicking on "Edit" will allow you to change your escort cost per mile when an estimate generates.
This tool is a feature to assist you in getting the closest possible quote available for your customers.
When you enter the dollar about per mile that you would like to use for escorts hit "Update" to save the setting.

Dashboard Options:

On each perviously saved estimate you have four options:
- Order- This allows you to take the info that was placed in the estimate and generate an Atlas Order form.
- Edit- Allows the estimate to be changed
- Remove- delete saved estimate
- Details- view saved estimate.

Generating an Estimate

New Estimate

To begin an estimate click the "+New" button on the top right of the estimator dashboard.

Routing and Dimensions

Enter Dimensions

Enter your overall dimensions for your entire combination in the Height, Width, Length and Weight boxes.
For a more accurate estimate you can include any overhangs and total trailer length.
Tips:
- You can type inches in the boxes and Atlas will convert to feet an inches for you.
- Typing a " . " after the first two digits in the weight will automatically add the three zeros for you.
  - Example: "20." will generate 20000

Enter Routing Info

Enter your origin and destination in the box provided
There is an option to "Avoid Tolls" to the right of the "destination" box
Any saved trips can be selected from the "Saved Trips" drop down
You can use just the city name & state or the full address to generate a route.
The routing system uses Google Maps to generate a route

Route

Once the origin and destination are entered a route will generate in the map below.
You can then edit the route to best suite your load as you see fit.

Editing the Route

Click anywhere on the routing line and drag to adjust your route as needed and this will create a way point

Removing a Way Point

To remove a way point left click on the point and then click on remove

State List

Then estimator will automatically generate a state list for all the states that you are running though

Additional Fees

To the right of the states you can enter the following information that will be added to the generated estimate.
- Escort cost per mile
- Fuel Surcharge

Estimate Specifics

Local Jurisdictions

There are several optional jurisdictions that you can select under "local jurisdictions"
These included; DC, MATP, NYC, New York Thruway (NYT), OHTP, and PATP
For the turnpikes you will need mileage traveled in order to get an accurate estimate.

Load Description

Select your load type (Construction equipment, boat, mobile housing, other, etc)
Enter your load length. There are a handful of states that ask for load length for a quote so entering this will help with the cost.

Number of Axles

To add your axle weight check the box that says "Axles Overweight"
Enter your number of axles then click "Set" to get the axle boxes to generate

Additional Fees

Under the "Costs: section you can add your truck costs and your fuel costs that will be added to your estimate.

Generating the Estimate

Once all the information is entered click "Generate" at the bottom right

Estimate Results

The Estimate Results will be split into two sections:
- 1. States: This section will list all your fees, mileage and total cost.
- 2. Escorts: This section will list any and all escorts and escort types that may be required along the route.

States

The states section of the generated estimate provides the following info:
- Number of miles in each state
- West Chester Permit Fee and State Fee for each state (as well as any other fees you have included)
- The total miles for the trip
- The total cost of the trip

Escorts

The Escort section of the estimate will include the following information:
- Escort criteria showing what dimensions are flagging the escort.
- If a height pole is needed
- Specifications on if the escort(s) are required in the front or rear on 2 lane vs 4 lane roads
- If state police are required and how many
- If a route survey is required to be ran for the state

Saving an Estimate

On the bottom right you can:
- Save the estimate to your estimate dashboard
- Save & Order the estimate, transferring it to the Atlas order form.
